Management Quota Seats In Bangalore Colleges.

Management Quota Seats:

About 25% of seats in each of the private engineering college are reserved for management.
These seats are entirely meant for admissions to be taken by the college management irrespective of applicant's ranking in comedk or karnataka-cet.
It has been observed that college management provides these seats to the students for a large sum of money.
The amount of money differs from college to college and is entirely negotiable by the students or guardian.

When to contact?

These admissions are open as soon as entrance exams are over and continue till the commencement of classes.
Seats in good colleges are sold out even before the counselling starts, but the management doesn't sell few seats for which they take huge amount of money.
So, if you want these seats at low prices, approach the colleges as soon as you can.

Whom to contact?

Contact college administrators directly on the phone no. given on the websites but they normally don't quote the prices on the phone.
So, visit the college on your own before negotiating.

DON'T APPROACH ANY MIDDLEMEN as they charge you a lot without performing any actual job.

What is the current price?

The management normally quotes much higher price. It is better you visit the college and consult the students studying there.
They will give you the details about the average price of the last year.

As per my knowledge,
Top 6 colleges normally charge about 12-16 lakhs for CS and ECE, and 8-12 lakhs for other branches.
Top 7-14 Colleges charge about 6-10 lakhs for CS and ECE, and 4-8 lakhs for other branches.
It totally depends on your negotiation skills.

Rush before the rates soar high.

2nd round of comedk uget counselling

Location:Bangalore Bangalore, Karnataka, India
Counselling dates for 2nd round of comedk engineering admissions have been announced by COMEDK.
It starts from 25th of August and ends on 31st of August.

All of the colleges in Bangalore follow VTU academic calendar except the autonomous institutes which are few. List of autonomous colleges can be found by clicking here.

For the session 2012-13, VTU has announced commencement of classes from 16th of August.
This clearly means that those attending the counselling will have to miss a few days of the classes.

In my opinion, that can definitely be compromised for the sake of better colleges/branch which will be deciding factor of your future. In second round of counselling, large rank slide occurs. So, I suggest you to attend the 2nd round of counselling positively, unless you have already got into your dream college and branch.

Complete schedule of COMEDK 2nd round counselling can be found here.

Difference between Autonomous Colleges and Non-autonomous colleges

Location:Bangalore Bangalore, Karnataka, India
Autonomous colleges are the colleges which are under the University but still very much different from other colleges strictly under the university. They have the minimum interference from the university. Still, matters like fees, seats, etc. are entirely decided by the university not the colleges.

Following differences can be made out:
1. Autonomous colleges have their own syllabus, Non autonomous colleges follow same syllabus in strict accordance with university.
2.Examination papers are set by the faculty in autonomous colleges, while paper is set by university committee for other colleges.
3.Autonomous colleges provide with CGPAs or grades while the others get the marks.
4.Schedule is different for different autonomous colleges while same for each of the university colleges.
5.Degree is jointly awarded by university and the colleges in autonomous cases.
6.Normally, Autonomous students get more of the holidays in comparison with non autonomous colleges, thus providing them with ample time to do things apart from the studies such as internships.
7.Non Autonomous colleges in Karnataka are said to  have some of the craziest of the subjects, as the subjects are decided by the old fashioned university committee.
8.It is said that in autonomous colleges, if you are noted by the faculties, then your fate will be in the their hands.

Hence, it can be easily concluded that the autonomous colleges have a clear lead upon non autonomous colleges. But still, this shouldn't be made a base for selection of colleges as you will find that colleges which don't even figure in top 20 colleges list in Karnataka  have got autonomous status.
